Five Important Questions to Ask your Spouse Weekly

Relationships are organic ... they need nourishment and encouragement if they are expected to grow. These five questions are not meant to be deep, probing questions. They require only a couple sentences to answer each question. The entire interchange should only take 15 minutes or so for both spouses to answer. Enjoy the process and experience the positive outcome.

1.) How are you really doing?

*Emotionally?

*Mentally?

*Spiritually?

These questions invite vulnerability and help you stay tuned to each other's inner world.

They demonstrate genuine care for your partner.

2.) Is there anything I've done or said recently that hurt you? Frustrated you? Disappointed you?

These questions create a safe space for honesty and help prevent resentment or misunderstanding from building up.

3.) What can I do this week to support you better and encourage you more?

This questions cultivates a servant-hearted posture in your relationship and addresses practical and emotional needs. It keeps your communication proactive ... and not reactive.

4.) What's something that brought you joy or gratitude this week?

This question reinforces emotional connection, encourages gratitude, and reminds couples of good moments even in tough seasons.

5.) How are we doing as a couple?

This is a check-in on the relationship itself regarding connection, conflict resolution, affection, sexual intimacy, and spiritual unity. It helps keep your relationship front and center ... where it should be.

Enjoy your conversations and know that your several minute investment in the relationship will bring you good returns!
